Crinum spp.



The genus Crinums has somewhere between 60 and 180 species. It is a large genus in the Amaryllidaceae family found in tropical, subtropical and warm temperate regions in Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Americas where they have been used traditionally to cure ailments and diseases. Crinums are large, showy plants with umbels of lily-like flowers found in seasonally moist areas, including marshes, swamps, depressions and along the sides of streams and lakes.
