An attractive epilithic cactus with drooping stems covered in white hair-like spines and large bright red flowers.

Cleistocactus colademononis is endemic to the Bolivian department of Santa Cruz in the province of Florida, Bolivia, about 30 kilometers east of Samaipata, on the Cerro El Fraile mountain. It naturally grows hanging from steep rock faces protruding above the surrounding jungle.

The drooping stems are up to 2.5m long and 7cm in diameter. It prefers a sunny position in well-draining soil and should be protected from cold. Water carefully, allowing the soil to dry out in between watering. An excellent plant in a rockery, container, or hanging basket.

Syn: Cleistocactus winteri subs. colademononis
