Syn: Calea ternifolia.
Calea is a perennial plant that grows to a height of 3m with a spread of 2.5m. The stems are woody and straight with many branches, the leaves are small oval and serrate occurring opposite along the branches and the flowers are small white to yellow.

A native of Mexico, it is adaptable but prefers rich soils and plenty of water in an open and sunny position. It is drought and frost resistant. This is the extremely bitter variety.

Traditionally used to enhance dreams, it is also used in traditional Mexican herbal medicine to treat fevers, diabetes, nausea and diarrhoea, acting as a purgative, antiperiodic and astringent.

Common name: Ahuapatli; Cheech; Amula; Atanasia Amarga; Aztec Dream Grass; Leaf of God; Thle-pelakano; Bitter Grass.

We strongly recommended to select Express Post shipping for all plant orders to minimise the transit time.
