An erect, herbaceous, perennial plant that produces one to several stems 0.2–1 metre in height, and has a spreading rhizomatous growth form. This graceful wildflower produces an abundance of huge, flat clusters filled with creamy white flowers.

Yarrow is a widespread medicinal plant used in folk medicine to treat inflammation, pain and gastrointestinal disorders. Yarrow it said to have healing effects of the mucous membranes, reducing inflammation. Yarrow might also assist as a diuretic and increase perspiration.

To germinate, seeds are nondormant and germinate over a variety of temperatures, although cooler temperatures will results in a longer germination time frame. Warmer temperatures will provide germination within 14 to 28 days, whereas cooler temps it can take as a long as 100 days for yarrow seeds to sprout. Yarrow seeds need some light to germinate, keep moist.
