Also known as Night-blooming Cereus, Strawberry Pear, Pitahaya and Belle of the Night. Fruit is said to resemble a mixture of strawberries and pears. A tropical / sub-tropical vining cactus.
Due to the sprawling nature, plant will be sent as a rootless cutting.
Your cutting needs to be callused before being ready for planting. Leave to dry for several days prior to planting. Cactus species are among the easiest plants to root at home. The process works any time of year, but cactus cuttings potted in late summer to early autumn root fastest. Fill an adequate sized pot with specialty cactus soil or mix your own from scratch with extra grit added, course sand, perlite, scoria, or pumice gives the soil the appropriate drainage and aeration. Plant the callused cutting in the prepared potting mix and top dress to prevent soil loss. Once potted keep dry, most cactus cuttings root in four to six weeks.
We strongly recommended to select Express Post shipping for all plant orders to minimise the transit time.
