A clumping ginger that grows to 2-4m in height. A herbaceous perennial that produces the well known Cardamom spice. Used commonly in Asian and Indian cuisine's the green seed pods are dried and the seeds within the pods are either used whole or ground.

This is a tropical plant the prefers humid conditions. An ideal position for this plant is equal hours of full sun and full shade. Is not drought tolerant.
