The red Habanero has a clean and intense heat, Measuring in between 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville Heat Units. They also have an intense sweetish flavour, characteristic of the Habanero family.

The Red Habanero was the world's hottest chilli before it was taken over by the Red Savina in 1994. Both varieties have since been left in the dust by super-hot varieties, such as, Carolina Reaper.

The Habanero is most commonly used in sauces. The Red Habanero ripens to a bright red. Its skin is thin and waxy with some wrinkling. Their pods have a distinctive lantern-like shape.

Germinating.
Sow the seeds in light, well-drained soil medium and keep in a sunny location at a temperature of at least 16 C. until the seeds sprout in 16 to 20 days. Keep moist, but not wet.
