Accepted name: Vachellia aroma.
A small, deciduous, perennial, tree/shrub native to Peru, Chile, Argentina and Paraguay. It has medium green, feather-like leaves which can get up to six inches long by one and half inches wide. Its leaves consist of ten to twenty-eight pairs of pinnate with numerous, tiny, closely spaced leaflets. This species can have long spines on some twigs.

Vachellia aroma is used by bees to make honey. The tree's wood is quite hard and it is commonly used for implements, posts and firewood.

Common names: Aromita; Aromo Negro; Espinillo.
