Mark's HPLC results for fake kratom
22nd March 2003
HPLC done
solvent 95%Meoh 5 % h2o
pressure 1000 psi
flow 1.5ml/min
column YMC-Pack ODS-AQ
S-5 Micron
250x4.6 mm ID
5 runs per sample
run time 12 minutes
The mitragynine ethan disulfonate was very contaminated avg 7 peaks with the biggest always being approx. 5.7 minutes. this product is to contaminated or degraded to use as a true reference sample.
Mitragynine Picrate. 1 peak average RT 1.6 min. slight trailings posssible comtaminates.
Kratom Acetate 3 peaks largest being 2.3 min. others 1.9 and 2.5 respectively no trailings
yohimbe HCL 1 peak average retention time 2.4 minutes. no trailings
melatonin(tryptamine) avg RT 3.8 min. no trailings.
So I can say that that acetate does not contain mitragynine picrate or the other mitragynine compound. with the retention time being within .1 min of yohimbe hcl I would think that the active alkaloid is a related compound or chemically similar.
the leaf material extract will be ran some time this week.
hope this helps
BTW Lets figure out what this plant is because its very interesting.
